About ZeroPlain
ZeroPlain is a browser-to-browser text chat built on a small edge relay. There is no account, no contact upload, and no readable message history on the server.
Browse all tools →Do I need an account to use ZeroPlain?
No. You choose a handle and your browser generates the encryption keys locally. There is no email, phone number, password, or account record.
Are my chat messages stored on a server?
The relay only holds encrypted envelopes while the recipient is offline, for up to seven days. Your readable message history stays in IndexedDB on your own device.
Can NexaTools read my messages?
No. Messages are encrypted on your device with the Double Ratchet protocol before they reach the relay, and the relay only sees ciphertext. First contact is trust-on-first-use, so compare the safety number to detect a substituted key.
Can I message someone who has never opened ZeroPlain?
They need to open ZeroPlain once with their handle so their public key bundle is published. After that you can send messages even while they are offline, and the relay delivers them when they return.
Does ZeroPlain support group chats or voice calls?
No. This release is a one-to-one text chat. Group rooms and voice would require a different group key protocol and media infrastructure, and this tool does not pretend to have them.
What happens if I clear my browser data?
Your private keys and local history are deleted. Old messages cannot be recovered, and you will need to compare a new safety number with your contact.
