How NexaTools processes your media files locally

The two core browser technologies that power this suite are WebAssembly (Wasm) and the HTML5 Canvas API. FFmpeg the same open-source multimedia framework used in most professional video workflows has been compiled to a Wasm binary that runs natively in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge without any browser plugin or extension. Image operations use the browser's built-in 2D canvas rendering context, which exposes per-pixel read/write access through getImageData and putImageData. Neither pathway sends data over a network connection.

Zero-upload architecture

File data is read into memory via the FileReader API and processed entirely inside the browser tab. No network requests are made after the page loads.

FFmpeg via WebAssembly

The same FFmpeg binary used in production video pipelines runs inside your browser tab via Wasm, giving access to every codec and container format FFmpeg supports.

No file retention

Closing the tab or navigating away immediately frees all allocated memory. NexaTools stores nothing not the file, not its metadata, not its name.

Frequently Asked Questions

What utilities are included in the NexaTools Media Suite? ▼
The Media Tools hub provides quick access to client-side audio converters, video converters (via FFmpeg WebAssembly), video-to-GIF generators, image converters, image compressors, favicon generators, EXIF metadata strippers, and color palette extractors.
Do any tools in the Media Suite require backend uploads? ▼
None of the media utilities upload your media to a remote server. Everything runs locally in your browser leveraging WebAssembly, HTML5 Canvas, and modern Web APIs, ensuring zero upload latency and maximum data privacy.
Can I use these media tools on mobile devices? ▼
Yes. The media hub and its tools feature responsive layouts optimized for mobile and tablet browsers, though memory-intensive tasks like video transcoding perform best on desktop processors.
Are there daily usage quotas or watermarks on converted media? ▼
No. All media tools on NexaTools are completely free to use without daily conversion limits, forced accounts, or watermarks applied to your generated files.
Can I run media tools while disconnected from the internet? ▼
Once the web page and necessary WebAssembly libraries are loaded and cached by your browser, many media utilities can process files offline without an active internet connection.
